Cheers Friends,
I am officially HAM Now. Got call sign VU3GDP from WPC, Ministry of Comm and IT. Its been a long, I was busy for office works. Finally the end. All works for Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra finished and I am back to HQ. Today morning got a call from VU2DPI to come on band. I never thought Dilip da will call me. Anyway, my antenna problem is still continuing with space and proper radials problems. For 40 Meter I got a Diamond CL-40 vertical mobile antenna, but without a good counterpoise it is nothing then a piece of long coil. Secondly, the radials for my 20 Meter band Inverted Vee was made up from some junk 0.2Sq mm copper wires which was unable to conduct more than 5 watt, resulting the SWR was high when I tried to operate QRO and got reports like 55 from VU2JAU and 57 from VU2DPI a month back. Anyway, after the wake up call, I went to market and got some 4 Sq mm copper wires. Dismantled the 20 Meter antenna first, searched on net for making a MW Radio Ferrite rod based 1:1 balun, and made it. All the materials are now in a PVC pipe enclosure with eye bolts and everything else. Power cut and my damaged 60W Soldering Iron took a lot time and it was almost 4PM. I tried to set up everything but Rain.. ahhh.. what a showering it was.. My BITX-20 is fit again with the IRF 510 replaced, but I forgot to bring the DDS VFO with me. Assmbled a half complete VFO to a PVC box and set everything right. Unfortunately power came at 7PM and it was difficult to erect the antenna. So thinking to do it tomorrow afternoon. Lets hope for the best with my new setup.
Posted the photos of both VFO and the balun setup below.. have a nice day ahead
My beloved junk lab.. messy..
